Sundays at Holy Trinity
We know that visiting a new church can be daunting. Who will you know? How long will it go on for? Will anyone talk to me? So we've tried to give an outline of what you can expect on a typical Sunday.
Welcome, Coffee and conversation
Tea and coffee is available from 11.15. Each week we have 2-3 people who aim to specifically welcome those that are new. As an urban church, our congregation can change in number and demographics at different parts of the year so, if you have any questions, feel free to ask at our welcome desk where we can help you find answers and get connected to our community.
Sung Worship is a key part of our service. Sherry (pictured here) is our full-time Music Director and we are blessed to have a high number of musically talented people at Holy Trinity and they get a chance to play or sing as part of our worship teams.
We usually sing 2-3 songs at the start and we encourage the children to stay in the service for the sung worship.
Vision for the Church
Our vision for worship is to have our private cry to Jesus overflow into our church community and beyond.
To find intimacy with God through cultivating space for the Holy Spirit to speak and to guide.
We believe we should worship in both spirit and in truth, knowing that we are beloved sons and daughters of God.
Vision for our Team
We are called to love each other deeply. We believe our team should build one another up with encouragement, using our words to bring life.
We believe that it is an honour and a responsibility to lead worship and so we bring our best, seeking excellence rather than perfection.
Together, we are committed to following this vision God is calling us to as a team.
The Teaching or Sermon part of the service is usually a 15-20 minute talk. We have 4 or 5 people who are on a teaching rota. We try to combine biblical teaching with personal experience and some humour from time to time.
We have also had a variety of guest speakers and once every 6 weeks we have a 'Community Sunday' where kids stay in the service and we have an extended time of sung worship and a shorter talk.
