Lent 2026: Wisdom in the Wilderness

Lent has always been a season of stripping back: a time for prayer, honesty, repentance, and a renewed desire for God. This year, as a church, we’ll be journeying together under the theme: Wisdom in the Wilderness. Using the rich resources of 24-7 Prayer and Lectio 365, we’ll be drawing on the ancient wisdom of the early Christian desert communities — women and men who withdrew from noise and distraction in order to seek God with their whole lives.

As part of this journey, we’re inviting everyone at Holy Trinity to take part in a few simple ways:

Each Sunday sermon will explore a different theme for Lent, rooted in the life and wisdom of a key desert figure.

Join a small group

Our small groups meet across the city each week, and during Lent they’ll be going deeper together — listening for all that God might want to say to us in this season. www.htrinity.ie/groups
